Here’s something you may not know… Patty Baker Humane Society Naples is home to some incredibly dedicated animal care professionals, passionate volunteers, devoted staff members who are also ugly cute amateur pet portrait artists!

And we’ve decided to lean into that.

Introducing My (Cute) Ugly Pet Drawing, our newest (and possibly our most ridiculous) fundraiser. For a $20 donation, you submit a photo of your pet, and one of our shelter team members will hand-draw a one-of-a-kind portrait just for you. We’re talking real, honest effort here. Think more “abstract masterpiece” than photorealism. Think “my five-year-old nephew could probably do better, but also… could he?”

Every single portrait is drawn by hand by actual people at the shelter (no filters, just vibes and a pencil or some markers). Some of our artists are surprisingly talented. Others are… well, that’s part of the fun. Either way, you’re getting an ugly cute portrait of your pet, hand-drawn by a shelter artist (pronounced: arteeest)!

How It Works

Getting your masterpiece is easy. Click the link below (or visit pbhsnaples.org/uglycuteart) and make a $20 donation. Once that’s done, email a photo of your pet to patrizia.vila@pbhsnaples.org. Include your name so we can match you to your donation. One pet per photo, please… we need to see those adorable details up close. From there, one of our very enthusiastic (and very non-professional) shelter artists will get to work drawing your pet as cute ugly as we can. We’ll send the finished product straight to you! Frame it, post it, laugh about it with your friends… it’s yours forever.

Why We Love Stuff Like This

Not every fundraiser has to be a formal event or a big production. Sometimes the best way to support your local shelter is something small, simple, and a little silly. That’s the whole idea behind My (Cute) Ugly Pet Drawing. It’s the kind of thing that takes two minutes, costs less than dinner out, and makes your whole group chat laugh. You get to show off your pet (we know you were going to anyway), our team gets to have a blast drawing them, and the animals at PBHSN get the support they need. These little moments of connection between the shelter and our community are honestly some of our favorites… because when supporting animals in need can also make you smile, everybody wins.

Every $20 goes directly to providing food, medical care, enrichment, and everything else our shelter pets need while they wait for their forever homes. So even if your portrait looks like your dog went through a funhouse mirror, you’re making a real difference.
